Identity

Individuals are torn between private and public spheres, the face ironically acting as a mask, rather than a means of true emotive expression. Thus, my work ‘Identity’ seeks to expose the often insecure, consciousness that is inevitably shrouded by man’s inherent desire to conform. ‘Identity’ utilises photographic portraits to publicise the reality behind faces and exteriors. This is symbolised in the ‘darkness’ that dominates the photos, projecting the audience into the shrouded minds of the subjects.
